11/22/07 -- Susan is profiled in an article and video by the San Jose Mercury News. Link to article is here -- includes link to video and opportunities for online giving to meet Susan's need for specific medical devices.
9/4/07 -- Susan now resides in an assisted living home. She has regained some motion in her arms, but most of her body below the neck is still paralyzed. She is hoping to receive additional rehab, through which she may recover some additional movement.
12/5/06 -- Susan is now totally off of the ventilator. The trachea tube has been removed and the hole is almost completely closed. She continues to improve, and is now spending about eight hours a day in rehab.
11/17/06 -- Susan is now off of the ventilator. Her throat still has to be suctioned. It will be some time before the
trachea tube hole is closed. Her spirits are good, but the rehabilitation is exhausting and difficult. Following rehab, she hopes to relocate to her father's home in Georgia.
