Susan, my only daughter, grew up in Eastchester, New York. She went to community college in White Plains after which she spent more than a decade traveling to various places in Mexico. She learned Spanish, enjoyed the culture and people, and worked as a massage therapist. Susan epitomized a healthy and vibrant life.
After her travels to Mexico, Susan moved to California in July of 2006 to start a career in San Francisco. She called me on August 28th to let me know she just received a job offer at the best spa in San Francisco.
On August 29, 2006, Susan took the day to celebrate her upcoming birthday. She was enjoying a walk around the city when Omeed Aziz Popal (accused of 18 counts of attempted murder, 18 counts of assault with a deadly weapon) allegedly gunned his SUV directly at
her and hit her. Susan was thrown against a parked car, breaking her neck, and
is now mostly paralyzed from the neck down (Click Here
for news footage of the assault).
On September 26th, Susan was transferred to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's spinal cord unit.
She was eventually moved to an assisted living home in Cupertino, CA, where she
now resides. Susan does not have insurance, however, to pay for the costs of this medical treatment.
Please donate anything you can to the “Help Susan Fund”. Your generous donations will be used to
care for Susan and continue the medical treatment and rehabilitation that she needs and deserves.
An account has been set up for Susan at Bank of America (click
here for more info). Thank you in advance for your
support and kind generosity.
Sincerely,
Joseph Rajic
